Work Is Progressing...

I'm still making improvements on the old video. I'm still making changes on the final product. But because my computer is a wee bit slow in processing the latest clip, I will simply post a few screenshots. Perhaps I'll have a video ready for tonight. Or perhaps I will just go to sleep like a normal person. We'll see.

The above clip only runs less than a second in actual time, but it's taking more than two hours to convert to video. Yeah... that's the way it is, sometimes.

In this clip, the character came out okay, but the movements were a bit awkward. I may have to re-do it. I haven't decided.

Here's another "second long" clip. They go by really quick, but they do take a while to create. That's just how it goes.

By the way, I just took a peek and the latest clip is yet to finish. It's currently processing at 10 minutes and 30 seconds per frame, with five frames to go.

Yep. There you are.

WIP it into shape...

So basically it took me a week to get these two 3 second clips together, and I still have problems with them. But that didn't stop me from attaching them to the rest of the finalized video. Because I need to see the progression while I'm beating up on myself. Don't judge.

For instance, here is a still of the Jody Watley caricature I was creating.

And now is the time where everyone says, "That's Jody Watley???" I know. I get it. This is part of why it's taking me so long to get this done. There is one more caricature at the end, but I'll leave for you to figure out who it is (or is supposed to be).

What day is this, anyway?

I was supposed to post something yesterday for WIP Wednesdays, but I forgot. So, instead I shall post something for There Ya Go Thursdays, which I just made up.

The video that I am re-working isn't all bad, but it's filled with lazy shortcuts that would have looked much better if I had been willing to take the time in getting it right.

On the upper left is a capture from the original video. It was supposed to be a caricature of singer Jody Watley. Instead, it's a little difficult to tell who it is. Especially with the big blue bow on her head. And no, I didn't take enough time on that bow, either.

This is what I have thus far. I plan to re-choreograph her moves and re-adjust her expression to make her more lifelike.

And, there ya go.

Oh, snap! Is today Wednesday? Time to see me W.I.P. it!

This choreography is based on a collection of moves from a fifteen year old Jennifer Lopez video, which I happened to enjoy. I'm currently tweaking the poses to keep the movements from looking choppy and awkward. As usual, the character's hair will be created last to avoid slowing down the computer.

If you have any suggestions on how to make this better, don't be afraid to comment. I probably won't put any to use, but there's a first time for everything.
