I’ll be back.
Yep, I've started on the next piece.
The work continues.
This one looks okay.
I think I might be done with this one. I may need to think this one over, but in the meantime I should start one the next piece.
Several changes later...
I’m still updating. I shall return.
I'm tired, but I'm not done.
I will now re-render this same image at 500% resolution to bring out the details that I can’t quite see here. I will also soften the glossiness in the leg. Hopefully this will be the last run through. The image above took 5 hours and 18 minutes to render at 200%. I suspect 500% will take roughly 8 to 9 hours. I’d better get it started. And then, bed.
Not bad.
It’s a bit dark, but it’s on the right track I think.
Pivoting
One of the advantages of working in digital 3D is the ability to make cosmetic changes to a piece without having to start from scratch. I’m going to try in a different direction to see if I feel better about this illustration.
Okay. This is a little better.
I’m trying to create something that fools the eye from a slight distance. I think I’m almost at that point. I’ll be back.
